Eisenhower park, orange, ca. A.K.A. "The duck park"

Written by: Tony Castro, 12/16/2025 9:00PM PST

This park was founded in 1969, the same year president Dwight D. Eisenhower died. Eisenhower Park sits on a historical site which used to be "The Olive Mill" in the 1800's, part of the old Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company. This area was known as The Olive District and the manmade lake was an irrigation pond/reservoir, from the 1880's to the 1950's, and was used to power the Dillin Mill and the Flour & Olive Mill. Artifacts from the original canal system from the, S.A.V.I. Co., concrete tunnel site, old irrigation systems still exist on the western side of the park. There was a small petting zoo in the park with deer and farm animals during the 1970's and 80's. Also in the 1970's, Eisenhower Park was popular for it's Rocket Ship Playground. There was a slide coming down from a giant rocket ship and a playground built around and attached to the rocket ship.

free park & fishing lake in Orange, california, open to the public.

Written by: Tony Castro, 12/13/2025 5:00PM PST

Eisenhower Park is located on the Northwest corner of Tustin Street and Lincoln Avenue in the city of Orange, it is open to the public, free admission and has plenty of free parking. There is a small lake, some call it a duck pond, but it's a lake, and it is available for catch and release fishing, so you can't keep the fish you catch, you have to throw them back, but yes fishing is permitted here. From the Bixby Avenue entrance of the park, follow the water flowing down the stream, it eventually leads to a waterfall that flows underneath a bridge and connects to the fishing lake, no swimming, bathing or boating allowed in the lake. The park also has two playgrounds on sand, with swings, slides and other fun stuff for the kids to enjoy. Lots of ducks, geese, squirrels, birds, fish, turtles and other wildlife to observe. Eisenhower Park is an awesome park in my opinion because you can go there to: fish, BBQ, play with the ducks or geese, have a picnic, enjoy the hills, or my favorite skateboard down steep hills at very dangerous speeds.

You Have to Poop in Front of People, Cruel & Unusual Punishment at Eisenhower Park.

Written by: Tony Castro, 12/13/2025 5:00PM PST

I plead the eighth constitutional amendment right that protects us from cruel and unusual punishment. No Warm water available in the restrooms  to wash your hands with. Also, the bathroom stalls at Eisenhower Park do not have doors, so you have to poop in front of people. I'm not talking about the bathroom entrance door, I'm talking about the actual bathroom stalls where the toilet is. The layout inevitably forces anyone who walks into the bathroom to see you taking a Trump or wiping your Donald. The sinks inside the men's bathroom are worse than the sinks inside the Orange County Men's Jail because the water spouts are inconveniently placed way to close to the sink bowl and there is little water pressure, but there is soap to wash your hands. Most bathrooms in Orange County do not have soap inside the restrooms, depending on the geographic location and social demographics. Park bathrooms with soap, toilet paper, warm water, comfort and privacy are usually found near or in upper middle-class to rich public communities and neighborhoods, especially in areas where public buses do not operate. For example, Olive Dog Park, down the street from Eisenhower Park, in Anaheim Hills, has private bathrooms with exfoliating soap and warm water, while other parks like Lemon Street Park or Killefer Park in the Cypress Street Barrio don't even have restrooms at all. Restrooms at Eisenhower Park are poorly managed, not stocked or kept up, so bring your own toilet paper.

Eisenhower Park in Orange, CA is free, open to the public and has a lake for free, catch-and-release, fishing.
